This is more than just a dedication.
A myriad of words fill my mind
My being alone a testament to your love
Thousands of sacrifices you’ve made on my behalf
I couldn’t dare ask you, “how much?”
Love is worth more than just dollar and dimes
Although, the burden crosses my mind all the time
There is no number for what you’ve done tor me.
The endless ways you’ve believed in me–
This is more than just a dedication.
Pen and ink, laced with poignant truth.
You could say, “I’ve asked too much”
You could say, “I don’t deserve it”
You could say, “I may not make it.”
And, you would be right.
But so long as you envelop me in your embrace,
and stay by my side and guide me along, like you always have,
I’ll preach that this is more than just a dedication…
and that I am who I am because of you.
